Sasha Hajj Assaf

President & Co-Founder

Ms. Hajj Assaf holds a Bachelor of Laws from La Sagesse University and holds a Diploma in Organization and Development of Mental Health Services from Saint Joseph University. She has been working in the field of Human Rights, with a focus on advocacy and awareness raising on civic rights. She is a QualityRights assessor and is part of national and international consultative groups and advisory committees with entities like WHO, London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, and the National Mental Health Program. Ms. Hajj Assaf is also a Mental Health advocate and was a speaker in multiple public events and campaigns on mental health. She is currently focusing in her work on the topic of “Mental Health in the Workplace”, working with all Lebanese partners of PAX for Peace to enhance the mental health of employees. Ms. Hajj Assaf has been accessing services in the Lebanese mental health system for over 9 years and lives with bipolar disorder and ADHD.

Thurayya Zreik

Secretary & Co-Founder

Ms. Zreik holds an MSc in Medical Anthropology from the University of Oxford and has been working in the field of Public Health research in Lebanon since 2015, with a focus on mental health. Ms. Zreik coordinated the QualityRights program at the National Mental Health Programme (MoPH) between 2019-2020, and in this time received a training of trainers certification on the QualityRights material from the World Health Organization. She has been the Lebanon research lead for the GOAL project since 2020, a multi-stakeholder project under the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and in partnership with NMHP and other local and international actors. Ms. Zreik has been living with bipolar 1 disorder and accessing services in the Lebanese mental health system for over 12 years. She is also a published illustrator and writer around topics related to mental health.
