Who We Are

Justice for Mental Health is a service user-led initiative that draws on the experiential expertise of service users and people with psychosocial disabilities to advocate for and raise awareness on mental health, human rights, and the link between the two. It was formally established in January 2023, and has been in operation and development as an initiative since late 2020. Since its beginnings, JMH has been filling an important gap in awareness and advocacy activities in Lebanon as the first service user-led initiative in the country.

JMH is composed of service user experts by experience, who employ their experience of the mental health system and psychosocial disability to inform their awareness and advocacy activities, and to inform the priorities for the work of the organization.

We aspire towards a community-based, human rights approach to mental health, that prioritizes recovery, rehabilitation, and integration, and promotes equity and justice through accommodation and accountability.
